This one-day course will provide participants with the knowledge and skills in managing unexpected dental trauma emergencies. After completing the course, participants will be able to manage and diagnose traumatic dental injuries in primary and permanent teeth.  

 The course will include: 

  • History taking, examination and diagnosis of various traumatic dental injuries
  • Imaging of the injured teeth and soft tissues 
  • Practical demonstration and hands-on training on simulation models for management of trauma to primary teeth and permanent teeth including repositioning, Cvek pulpotomy, full pulpotomy and splinting exercises

Sobia Zafar

Dr Sobia Zafar is a specialist paediatric dentist and a Discipline Lead in Paediatric Dentistry at The University of Queensland. Her research and clinical interests are in the fields of dental education, digital dentistry, and the oral and dental health of children including those with special needs. 

Christine Peters

Dr Christine Peters is a specialist endodontist and a Clinical Academic in Dentistry at The University of Queensland. She has published in textbooks and peer-reviewed journals and lectured both nationally and internationally. She is also the past president of the Northern California Academy of Endodontics.

Professor Ove Peters is a specialist endodontist and has wide-ranging clinical and research expertise. He has published more than 160 manuscripts related to endodontic technology and biology. He has authored two books and contributed to several leading textbooks in dentistry. He also is an associate editor for the International Endodontic Journal and an academic editor for PLOS One.

 

ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS: Attendees must provide evidence of current and complete vaccination for COVID-19 on the day of the event. Entry into the event facilities will be declined if attendees fail to provide vaccination evidence on the day and will not be eligible for a refund under the cancellation policy.

CANCELLATION POLICY: We require at least 72 hours’ notice of the cancellation in order to provide a full refund. Any cancellations that occur between 72 hours and 24 hours of this event will receive a 50% refund. Any cancellations that occur within 24 hours of this event will not be refunded.
