Join local experts from the UQ School of Dentistry as they bring you an engaging day of clinically-based presentations that will provide clinicians with knowledge in how to raise the standards of oral care in daily practice.

This one-day clinical day course will include multidisciplinary aspects of Periodontics, Prosthodontics, Orthodontics, Oral Medicine, Special Needs Dentistry and Oral Maxillofacial Surgery. 

Keynote speakers 

About the presenters

  • Professor Saso Ivanovski is a dental specialist in Periodontics and the Head of School for UQ Dentistry. His interests are in clinical implantology as well as the cellular and molecular aspects of osseointegration and periodontal regeneration.
  • Associate Professor Ryan Lee is a dental specialist in Periodontics and Discipline Lead in Periodontology. His main research interests are tissue regeneration, wound healing and diabetes. 
  • Dr Mark Gervais is a prosthodontist and a lecturer at the UQ School of Dentistry. He is also the Federal President of the Australian Prosthodontic Society. 
  • Dr Himanshu Arora is a postgraduate student in Prosthodontics and a Lecturer. He has special interest in the field of digital implant dentistry including accuracy of guided implant placement in the anterior maxilla. 
  • Dr Desmond Ong is currently a Clinical Academic in the Discipline of Orthodontics at the University of Queensland School of Dentistry, where he is involved in both the Undergraduate and Postgraduate Orthodontic Programs. Desmond is also in full-time specialist orthodontic private practice in Townsville.
  • Dr Sarah Chaw is a dental specialist in Oral Medicine and an Associate Lecturer. She is an experienced Clinical Academic with a passion for teaching, and is involved in the training of postgraduate and undergraduate dental students. 
  • Dr David Fu is a dental specialist in Special Needs Dentistry (SND) and an Adjunct Lecturer. He dedicates time to help with research and student education. 
  • Dr Nigel Johnson is a dental specialist in Oral Maxillofacial Surgery and a Senior Lecturer. Dr Johnson possesses a strong research interest and has authored numerous papers in International journals on Pathology and Craniomaxillofacial Trauma.
