School of Dentistry seminar series: Regenerative Endodontics: Clinical and Translational Science - Assoc Prof Satish Alapati

Stem cell-based tissue engineering strategies continue to demonstrate great potential for regeneration of pulp-dentin complex, particularly in immature teeth with inflamed/necrotic pulp tissue. This seminar will present current treatment options, outcomes, and mechanisms of crosstalk between the inflammatory milieu and tissue-resident stem cells to formulate clinical interventions. Subsequently, understanding role of various gene candidates involved with inflammatory degeneration of pulp tissue by cataloging expression profile under various inflammatory conditions is pivotal.  Therefore, a robust method to quantify gene expression levels using RNA-Seq technology (RNA-seq) to deconstruct lineage trajectories of native stem cells, and determinants of cell fate questions that are key to regenerative endodontic applications.

• Understand the scope of practice of Regenerative Therapy
• Interpret clinical translation and outcomes of Pulp Therapy/Regenerative Endodontic Procedures
