Regenerative and plastic-aesthetic periodontal and peri-implant therapy - 2 day course
The aim of this course is to provide the general practitioner and the specialist with a comprehensive, evidence-based concept aiming to successfully manage periodontally compromised patients. Designed for Periodontists and General Dentists.
CPD Points: 7 per day
Course overview
During the 2 days, a treatment concept based on the scientific evidence and clinical experience from the last 3 decades will be provided. The concept will address the most important aspects related to regenerative periodontal therapy, recession coverage in challenging clinical scenarios, and the etiology, prevention and treatment of soft tissue defects at dental implants.
Course outline
Day 1 - Theoretical component
- Reconstructive / regenerative periodontal surgery
- Biology of periodontal wound healing and regeneration
- Regenerative materials in periodontology:
- Treatment concepts for intrabony defects and results of following regenerative periodontal therapy
- Treatment concepts for furcations
- Etiology of recession defects around natural teeth
- Clinical concepts for the treatment of single and multiple gingival recessions
- Etiology, prevention and treatment of soft tissue defects at dental implants
- Soft tissue grafting and recession coverage at dental implants: possibilities and limits
- Use of soft tissue replacement grafts and soft tissue replacement grafts
- Post-operative protocols and complication management
Day 2 - Practical component
The following issues will be trained on pig jaws:
- Various Flap designs
- Regenerative surgery of intrabony defects with regenerative materials + Regenerative surgery of a furcation defect with regenerative materials including biologics, grafting material and membrane
- Suturing techniques to achieve primary closure and optimize wound stability:
- Modified Coronally Advanced Tunnel (MCAT) and the combined MCAT + LCT using connective tissue graft and soft tissue replacement grafts
- Harvesting technique for palatal connective tissue graft
- Different Suturing techniques for closure of palatal donor site and recipient sites
